Welcome to the August Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring August's Stamp of the Month, which is "It's Your Day," a set of 26 stamps! If you have come here from Helen Onulak's Blog, you are on the right path! If this is your first stop, you may want to go back to Jena's Blog and start from the beginning! This month we have 63 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's Stamp of the Month and other great Close to my Heart products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

This card is 6 x 6 so cut yourself a card base that's 12 by 6 out of a light colored paper. For this set I used Abundance paper, it's retired but I was in a fall colored mood so this paper was perfect! Cut a piece of New England Ivy cardstock 6 x 6 and use your trimmer and dry embossing tool to make lines in it every 1/2 inch. Turn your card front and make lines the other way so you have a very nice grid pattern.

Sand it using a sanding block on the raised side.

Now cut a piece of Autumn Terracotta cardstock 5 x 5 and do the same thing but this time, diagonally on the paper. Use your sanding block to make the white core of our paper stand out.

Cut off the corners with your corner rounder.

You'll need these color inks. You can see I use mine a lot!!! Autumn Terracotta, Cocoa, Goldrush and New England Ivy.

Cut a piece of the Abundance patterned paper 2 by 4 1/2. Cut another pattern 2 by 2, distress all with the Cocoa stamp pad and a foam tool.

Attach the Autumn Terracotta paper to the New England Ivy cardstock right in the center.

Glue the long patterned piece 1/2 inch from the left hand side of the Autumn Terracotta square centered between the bottom and top.

Using your It's Your Day stamp set, use the "party" stamp and stamp it directly on the small patterned paper square towards the top.

Glue that piece 1/2 inch from the top of the Autumn Terracotta cardstock, 1 inch in onto the long patterned piece.

Cut a piece of Colonial White cardstock 2 1/4 by 3 1/2. Take the different pieces of the birthday cake and the "flame" of your choice and stamp each one of them in a different color to make the pieces of your cake and the plate. Use New England Ivy for the candles and Goldrush for the flames. Distress with Cocoa.

Glue cake on card 1/4 inch from right hand side of the Autumn Terracotta and 1/4 inch up from bottom of the card. I found the Colonial White color a bit bright so you might want to dab on it with a brush and one of the ink colors you are using to darken it a bit if you think so too.

Turn card over and attach a matching ribbon to the back about one inch in from the left hand side of the card. I used Tombow to glue it down.

Glue ribbon down in front and tie in know, trim the ends.

Put small glue dots on the middle of the flames.

Pour Prisma Glitter on them. Let dry for a minute then pour excess glitter back into the jar.

Take two buttons and thread them with Waxy Flax. Use Glue Dots to attach to card as shown. What fun! Hope you enjoyed, now on with the hop!

Now "Hop" on over to Haley Dyer's blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!
